An Authentic Montana Experience

I had the good fortune of working recently with a PA student at Community Health Partners in Livingston. Here are a few photos he took during his six week stint in Livingston. They remind of how quickly we can forget where we are in the world.

I love these photos and these streets I travel every time I am in Livingston, a town that embodies that old time Montana spirit. Livingston is an eclectic blend of old and new, art and ranch...it is possible to encounter movie stars in the midst of a movie or horses on Main Street getting ready for the 4th of July parade all on the same day.

I can't think of many Main Streets in America that have such beautiful mountains for a back drop.

Why Montana?

"Before Alaska came along and ruined everything, one of every twenty-five square miles in America was Montanan. This much space has nurtured a healthy Cult of Place in which people find perfection, even divinity in the landscape." -- Cecil Migrates

"Of all the memorable views, the best have been framed by Montana windows." -- The View from My Window William Hjortsberg

“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’ re in it... Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans.” John Steinbeck
